Guarini Global Law & Tech Director for Policy and Practice Angelina Fisher participated in a panel discussing the World Bank’s World Development Report 2021: Data for Better Lives which explores the relationships between different types of data and data transactions used for development purposes. Chapter 6 of the report proposes legal enablers and safeguards that need to be put in place to create a a trust environment as core of an evolving social contract around data. Professor Fisher’s intervention drew on her background paper, co-authored with Thomas Streinz, on Confronting Data Inequality.
